Evaluation Question 7
Nisha Sharma's Slidely by Slidely Slideshow
This Slidely shows the comparison between my school magazine and my music magazine. You can see how much I've learn when creating magazines. I've learnt about layout and where everything should be placed to look its best, This also includes the code and conventions. I've also learn about how emphasis of fonts and colour can effect the look on the magazine, and how by making something bigger and closer together will create a professional and styled look.
One thing that i developed an understanding for was aiming at the correct audience, and representing the artists correctly through the image(What she is wearing, her pose, colours.) This was the biggest challenge, i feel like i have accomplished this. I have also improved on making things more professional and how to keep things the same throughout the magazine. Comparing my music magazine to my school magazine shows that my skills have improved throughout. This is shown by the quality of my products. When producing my school magazine I had very little knowledge of how much thought and planning goes into the creation which is why the quality is so poor. For my music magazine I researched in to real existing music products which you could buy from shops, this helped a lot.Creating mock-ups before my final product helped improve my skills so my product could compete against the real ones. The most important thing when producing a magazine is knowing your target audience. So I created a questionnaire which could help me do this so my magazine was suitable towards them. My school magazine was very basic and was not thought through well enough. The photos were of a less quality and included unwanted backgrounds which I could not remove at the time because of my skills. The text is very large and everything is emphasised making it messy and the structure very hard to follow. On the contents the text is far too large and only contains 4 different topics which is very bad quality and is not fit for on the shelves. From my research i knew which coverlines to include so it was suitable for my target audience. The important text is more emphasised and there is an organised structure to help my readers.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product
The magazine is appealing to people who like artists such as Beyonce, Usher , Ne-Yo, Kanye west , Drake and YMCMB. These are the big artist currently dominating the Top 40. People who like these artist copy their clothes, lifestyle choices and other things they do. My audience could be seen as egoists as they seek pleasure from listening to music, Mainstream as they follow the popular crowd and because R&B music is accepted and listened to by teenagers and are also innovators as they want to make there mark, this could be with the clothes they wear or how they present themselves.
My music magazine targets teenagers/young adults, aged around 16 - 24 and They are into fashion, and like the big mainstream shops for example TopShop, RiverIsland, Selfridges, Urban Outfitters, TopMan and JD Sports. You would see them in the clothes seen in fashion magazines (XXL/Fader) and on catwalks or Online blogs . There class and status are all different as R&B music reaches out to a wide range of people. These types of people spend there free time going out shopping, or going bars and clubs, these are the things they spend there money on, also on gigs and tours and going out with friends in popular locations. Most of these people own iPhones, engage in other media's like Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. I am going to interview a potential target audience for the magazine.
The video i below is a Question and answer to someone in my target audience. I asked her the following questions. I will introduce them by asking there age, what magazine they buy.
- What do you think of my magazine?
- Would you buy this magazine?
- Are the images, font and colour scheme appealing to you?
- Do they fit with the theme of the magazine?
- Do you think you would read more of my magazines?
- Is it aimed at the right audience?
- Would you pay £1.99 for this magazine?
- Is there anything you would change on my magazine?
- What is your favorite part of my magazine?
- Would you change anything?
