November Feedback

Here is my November feedback from my Media Teacher from this i can tell what work is proficient and what is basic and also excellent. I am currently working on a C grade what is my target grade. From this feedback i know what i have to improve.

Question 1

From my first question i can tell that my target audience will be ages 16-20 as from my survey I can tell that this was my popular age group. So therefore i will make my Music magazine suited to this age group. 

 Question 2 

From my second question i can tell that my magazine is unisex as i had an even amount of male and females answering the survey. So when creating my Magazine i will make sure i use unisex colours and images so it attracts both sexes. 

 Question 3 

From question 3 i can see that the most popular music genre is R&B followed by POP as i had 37.50% (6 people) click R&B and 25.00% ( 4 people) click POP. I also had responses to other what was genres i did not include.

From this question i can see that many people have not brought music magazines as 60% ( 12 people)  of the people that answered the survey clicked no and 40% however the music magazines listed are mainstream magazines so if i base my magazine around the design ideas and the contents they use.

From this question this gives me a rough idea of what price i would set my magazine so people will buy it. The price range will be £0.99 to £2.99 as i had a equal split between them of 47.37( 9 people). 

Question 6

From this question i can tell that my magazine cover should have a little amount of text and lots of images but a little bit of images. However the theme of my colours should not have much of bright colours but a little of dark colours

From this question i can tell not many people visit music websites and that they are not important however some people do visit the site so i do need to include a website address but not on the cover

From this question i can tell that people will want mainstream artists to feature on it and current music artists. so it will attract the correct target audience.

Question 9 

From this question they had to look at two magazine covers and see what one they looked more attractive and what they preferred. I chose two different magazines from the same genre but one with lots of texts and images then the other one was one with a main image covering the whole cover with just the masthead. From my results people liked the magazine with the image taking the whole page and just a simple title.

Create Compelling Magazine Covers

The way the magazine will look visually appealing is by making sure my masthead stands out in black and also make sure that the main image is in bright colour and represents the magazine so it so the target audience. Use colours that are linked to my kind of music magazine to make it clear what genre my music magazine is. Make my masthead short and simple to people can remember it. i must also keep the layout simple so regular customers know what they are looking for.

Focus your content to your target audience

My target audience will be ages 16+. The reason of this is because the magazine will be youthful and mature at the same time. The language used will be formal and also language that links to the genre for example slang. The magazine will have music reviews and celeb interviews on the target audiences current music. 

Choose a Graphic Design That Reflects Your Magazine's Purpose

The front cover is import as this is what the audience will see straight away so it needs to stand out and attract them. The layout of the magazine has to be suitable for the type of magazine as if there is too much text it will seem less interesting as the customers will feel that they are reading the magazine already. I will use many graphic websites such as Da font and edit them i fireworks to make them more professional. The Masthead that i liked the most is the title called "JAMM" as it is related to music as a wave of music and the font is called "street soul" the reason to why i have chosen this text font is because it looks wavy and cool.

Respond to Your changing audience 

Audiences change people grow up or the trend changes so the magazine will have to make sure it keeps up to date with the latest trends and people. My magazine is aimed at both genders male and female at the ages 16+ however if mostly males buy the magazine and mainly listen to the music genre then the magazine will have to adapt to these changes maybe by changing the layout or colour scheme. My magazine will feature various competitions and many download tracks as these are currently in and not many people buy magazines with free CD's or Tapes. 

Brand beyond the pages

The name 'JAMM' can be an app name that can be downloaded that customers can use to get the latest news in the music industry and get the latest magazine. i could also get my name out by getting partner magazines to feature my magazine in one of there pages or give an issue free in the newspaper so everyone can read an issues so they are aware of the magazine. I could also develop my magazine by becoming a sponsor on TV, adverts or even a music label.
